World's N0.1 VoIP service provider "Skype" Crashed before Christmas,2010

This whole year we all saw how prices of  International calls and Video Conferencing has dropped because of our VoIP services but that doesn't meant that it is stable and the proof of instability was given by our Skype which crashed on 22nd Dec,2010.
As per statistic two third of skype users experienced an outage so widespread that when they all went on to Twitter to complain, they crashed that too!.As Microsoft and Google all are busy on cloud computing where they are invested billion of money this is the drawback when cloud starts lightening without any reason.............

Samsung Nexus S sorry Its Google Nexus S

From the last few Mr.Michael Arrington and Jason Kincaid of techcrunch have been using the Google Nexus S, manufactured by Samsung, with the new Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” operating system. This is a phone that was designed with direct input from the Google Android team. And like its predecessor, the Google  Nexus One, which was released in January 2010, it has a “clean” install of Android. That means there is no additional software layer from third party OEMs or carriers to interfere with the user experience. Like the Nexus One, this will become the reference phone for this generation of Android.

Unlike the Nexus One, the phone was not built from scratch – there referene point was the Samsung Galaxy S, released earlier this year. However, Google will not be selling this phone directly to consumers. They will sell through  Best Buy in the U.S. (on T-Mobile) and Carphone Warehouse in the U.K. Google says the phone is currently expected to be available starting December 16, although pre-orders might be taken earlier

Nokia new OS MeeGo tablet and smartphone leak on pictures

 What is MeeGo
MeeGo is the OS built by Nokia and Intel yup u are write its same intel who manufacture your processor and now to beat Apple OS they are backing Nokia to make Beast OS who can make apple out of business.

Lately but now the MeeGo has shown  some movement on the MeeGo front after all. An unknown tablet and a HI/LO Vibrant smartphone running the MeeGo(Nokia/Intel) mobile OS showed up on some pictures. The tablet looks much like an iPad, but there is no info on the display's size. The two things we know for sure from the picture are the MeeGo OS and the  video-call camera.

Iphone4 topped the chart of obsession

Early this year, fervor around the iPhone 3 had cooled. Tech media once again indulged in speculation about whether another smart phone might come forward as the ultimate iPhone killer, finally ending our addiction to Apple's sleek offering. Candidates such as the HTC Droid Incredible and the much-hypedGoogle phone played up their Android operating systems and their ability to work with service providers other than AT&T, the sole option for the iPhone and a source of great frustration for iPhone users. To some, it looked as if the mighty might finally stumble.

Then Apple did what it's famous for, developing a new, improved product to ignite our obsession all over again. The iPhone 4 arrived on the scene surrounded by enough controversy, industrial espionage, and rumormongering to make it worthy of a John le Carre spy novel (and a Top 10 Search on Yahoo!). The flames of desire were fanned early due to an iPhone 4 prototype that appeared on the tech blog Gizmodo. The blogger said he'd found the phone in a bar, and he posted photos and details. Apple responded swiftly, reporting the prototype stolen. An investigation was launched, including a search and seizure at the Gizmodo editor's home. The cat was out of the bag, and the public -- particularly the tech community -- anxiously waited to get its hands on the new model.
As anticipated, the iPhone 4 was officially announced in June. Apple fans lined up and camped out up to a week before the sale date. And the U.S. was just the beginning: Footage of lines in Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and other spots around the globe dominated the media. The frenzy paid off big time for Apple, which announced the iPhone 4 as its most successful product launch to date, selling more than 1.7 million phonesin the first three days.
Despite an almost immediate rash of reports about "Antenna Gate," an issue CEO Steve Jobs addressed by teaching consumers the right way to hold their phones (avoiding the dreaded "Death Grip"), sales of the phone continued to grow in record numbers. In October, Apple reported a 91% increase in year-over-year iPhone sales, with 14.1 million units sold. Even reports that the glass casing was prone to shattering didn't slow consumers' enthusiasm for their new toy.
Another media -- and search -- spike was created when a bug in the iPhone 4's alarm app missed the daylight saving time change, causing thousands in Europe to oversleep. Delayed Europeans took to Twitter to complain and make jokes about the error, which had previously affected users in Australia and New Zealand. Apple promised that a fix would be released soon.
Just in time for the holidays, Apple announced distribution deals with Sam's Club and Target to sell the phones, which were already available in Walmart stores. That ups the mass-market availability of the phones and will surely keep sales strong well into 2011.
In November, a Verizon memo was leaked, seeming to prove correct nearly a year's worth of rumors that a Verizon iPhone would be released. Days later, a photo was leaked, apparently showing the "iconic device" referenced in the memo. At long last, iPhone fans could have an alternative provider, but how many will make the switch? And more importantly, what will they have left to complain about?
And the elusive white iPhone? After months of delays and rumors, the latest reports have the model set for launch next spring ... around the same time as the rumored release of the iPhone 5. Whatever happens, we can't wait to read the next chapter.

Nokia new software updated for E72

Nokia has issued a new updated (firmware version 52.005) for its highly-popular E72 smartphone. It’s a small update, addressing few things like:
  • Changes in timezones
  • Adobe Reader updated to version 2.5.202
  • Default system start date changed (11/10/2010)
  • Clock time font changed — after a previous update (v51) made it appear smaller
  • Device Management fix
  • Keypad Autolock fix — autolock is now restricted to homescreen

As usual, we advise you to backup all your data prior to pressing any buttons. The E72 comes with UDP (Universal Data Prevention) but as we all know – something could always go wrong. Hence, keeping a copy of your contacts and other PIM data on a local hard drive is advised…

Unmarried women in a small North Indian village are now banned from owning a mobile phone but Men are allowed

Unmarried women from the Lank village of North India are now not allowed to own a mobile phone. The village population measures a mere 50,000 people in size, but nearby regions have considering implementing the same rules. The reason? Arranged marriages are still the norm in that part of the world, and mobile phones enable couples who are violating their parent’s wishes to keep in touch, arrange secret rendezvous, and in some cases even get married illegally. When illegal marriages happen, people get killed. I’m not joking, they’re called “honor killings“. There were 34 couples who eloped last month and because of that 8 people were executed. No matter what you may think about this, how morally wrong it is, and how these people need to get with the times, tradition is tradition and there’s little the police can do. Of course they try to stop the killings, but when you break a tradition that’s been standing longer than Christianity has existed, you pay with blood.
Local women’s rights group Disha is calling the new laws “archaic”, especially since boys will be able to use their mobile phones. Mobile phones help propel people out of poverty and the ban only keeps women from being able to help their family make extra money. “These [mobile phones] help in easy communication, which in turn help these youth to get jobs. One cannot discriminate use of these contraptions on basis of sex,” Disha president K.N. Tiwari said.
We’re in trying times, especially since the internet is brining cultures from all around the world to our screens. Some people see how relationships work in Europe and America and want to have a piece of that happiness for themselves. Parents get mad, parents sharpen their knives, parents chop off heads. Isn’t a spanking enough?

Nokia X7-00 spotted gaming Need for Speed in the wild

Firstly, let's be absolutely clear that we don't know this is Nokia's X7, but given the polished, entertainment-centric design (it has quad speakers, apparently), we're inclined to believe that it's the real deal. Its screen looks to be the same 4-inch affair as on Nokia's E7, it's running the latest Symbian OS(formerly known as Symbian^3), and pictures of its rear reveal an 8 megapixel camera. The last detail of import, naturally, is the reassurance that comes from knowing that this supposed X7 can crunch throughNeed for Speed quite nicely. Jump past the break to see it on video.

Introducing Nokia N8 in Movie .....Official Trailer of Nokia N8

This is the first time Nokia N8 has started promoted them in Techie movie so that people get inspired and there sales start increasing. One more marketing idea by our lovable brand Nokia.
When the BlackBerry launched PLAYBOOK sporting some Tron screenshots in the marketing, I had hoped that RIM had scored some sweet promo with the upcoming movie, but it looks like Nokia’s got something better – a cameo of their N8 in the movie, and revealing an exclusive new trailer with lots of new bits that you haven’t seen any of the previous teasers.
Although it might not come with the freakin’ sweet digital lock hacking app pictured abve, the N8 does have an outstanding 12 megapixel camera with flash, and run their latest Symbian^3 software. There’s HDMI out available to pump HD videos out to the big screen, and for even more file access, the N8 can receive files via USB without needing a computer in between. The usual stuff like Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G are in there, and the screen clocks in at 3.5 inches and 640 x 360 pixels.
Without further ado, here’s the full, brand spanking new Tron: Legacy trailer. Oh, and Nokia – when are we getting our Tron special edition N8?

Apple New Ipad?

It took me a while, but I'm starting to fall in love with my iPad in a way I haven't loved a gadget for a long while. There's something about the form factor, the apps, the OS that feels just right and makes me want to do as much of my daily computing on it as possible. Of course, that's still a pretty small sliver of my overall day, and the iPad isn't even close to replacing my laptop for the large majority of my work, but I'm finding myself increasingly doing casual browsing, casual gaming, serious writing, and, yes, even some reading on Apple's 10-inch tablet.

But I have one "big" problem with the tablet that doesn't look like it'll be solved anytime soon: it's not 7 inches. Will Apple ever eat its words and build a smaller iPad, or will the 7-inch form factor be left to the rest of the emerging tablet market to fight over?

The iPad was built by Apple, which means in a few months' time we're probably going to see a brand new version of the device that will somehow cast the current version in a very unfavorable light. We'll wonder what all the fuss was about. "You mean the first iPad couldn't even do video calls?" could be the iPad's version of "You mean the iPhone didn't even have third party apps when it came out?" And of course, the current iPad is far from perfect. With impending competition from smaller, well-connected, camera-packing, Flash-compliant, and / or cheaper tablets (the Galaxy Tab, Nook Color, and BlackBerry PlayBook, to name a few), what's Apple planning for its second-generation iPad to keep a hold on its sizable market lead?

First off, I don't really have any idea. It's probably a pretty safe bet that Apple will be adding the iPad to its stable of FaceTime-compatible devices, courtesy of a camera or two, and apparently the screen is getting some sort of tweak, but that's about all anyone can safely guess. One thing I am pretty certain on, however, is that the new iPad won't come in a 7-inch flavor. Steve Jobs pretty soundly trashed all the swirling rumors of a 7-inch iPad on Apple's earnings call a couple months ago ("This size is useless unless you include sandpaper so users can sand their fingers down to a quarter of their size."), and I'm not too happy about that.
